Michael Gooden

Farmer in the Riverina, NSW

Michael and his wife Heloise and three young children are the custodians of their fourth generation property "Willowlee" which is located between Wagga Wagga and Narrandera in the Riverina, NSW. They have been managing the property holistically since 2011 when they undertook Holistic Management training with Bruce Ward.

Their main enterprise is a Angus cattle stud Old Man Creek grass fed bulls, where they focus on breeding profitable cattle that are adapted to cell grazing and specialize on a grass finished system. They also directly market a proportion of the herd. Michael did further training with RCS in 2018.

This journey has led them to be founding members of the 8families management group and working part time for RCS. Michael is also the current President of the grower group "Vic No-Till" along with sitting on the board of the Australian Holistic Management CoOp (HMC). They were baselined for a soil carbon project with Carbonlink in February 2023.
