About the conference

Join us for the National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo

Australia’s leading event exploring the intersection of farming, science and carbon markets is back — with a renewed purpose.

We build on the legacy of 10 past Carbon Farming Conferences, and reflect the reality that all of agriculture is heading toward a low-carbon future.

Whether you’re a grower, agribusiness leader, scientist, or service provider, this event is about answering the questions:
What does the low-carbon future mean for me—and how can I shape it now?

The National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo brings together:

✔ farmers,

✔ scientists,

✔ innovators, investors, policymakers, and carbon market specialists in a space designed to spark inspiration and action.

We acknowledge and honour the impact of the past Carbon Farming Conferences, which since 2007 laid the groundwork for conversations that once felt radical and are now mainstream.

This event is the natural evolution of that work — bigger, broader, and focused on arming farmers with the tools and knowledge to thrive in a changing landscape.

A national and global conversation

Over four dynamic days, the Conference will deliver:

✅ A Half Day Field Trip to Bibbaringa to understand the many benefits of carbon farming and Natural Capital

✅ A dedicated Soil Carbon Day, hosted by the Soil Carbon Industry Group (SCIG), delving into the latest developments in soil carbon research, markets, and policy

✅ Two further days of full-scale conference and expo content focused on on-farm emissions, soil and vegetation carbon, low-emissions technologies, biological inputs, renewables integration, and market readiness

✅ High-impact speakers from across Australia and internationally

✅ Livestream access for remote attendees

Working together for a low-carbon future

The climate is shifting. So is agriculture. As farmers, scientists, service providers, and policymakers, we’re not just navigating change—we’re creating it.

From ACCU methods to emissions reduction tools, from practical science to profitable solutions, we need conversations that bring all the pieces together in one room—and that’s what this conference will do.

With over 400 participants expected, including international delegates, this will be a landmark gathering for those driving the transformation of agriculture.

We invite you to join us—in person or online— for a future-focused event that doesn’t just talk about change, but makes it happen.

Carbon Management Services (CMS) is led by Louisa Kiely, one of Australia’s most trusted and respected voices in carbon farming and land-sector climate solutions. With over 25 years of experience in marketing, business development, and carbon project strategy, Louisa has been a pioneering advocate for practical, profitable, and science-backed approaches to climate resilience on farms.

Louisa co-founded Carbon Farmers of Australia, an organisation instrumental in putting soil carbon on the national agenda and in the creation of Australia’s first Soil Carbon Method. Through this work, she also created and ran the highly successful Carbon Farming Conference & Expos, held annually for over a decade.

The event helped shape national conversations and inspired a generation of early adopters.

Today, CMS is proud to build on this legacy— working with producers, policymakers, and innovators to support practical transition strategies that create real outcomes in the low-carbon economy. From high-level strategy to hands-on implementation, CMS helps producers and their partners take action with confidence and clarity.

An Evolution

The National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo is the next chapter in a story that began nearly two decades ago—when a few passionate voices started asking hard questions about climate, soil, carbon, and farming.

The Carbon Farming Conference brought together early adopters and thought leaders at a time when few in agriculture were talking about carbon. Today, we stand at a turning point. What was once niche is now mainstream.

This new event reflects that transformation. It reaches beyond soil carbon alone to embrace the full spectrum of opportunities and challenges facing agriculture in a low-carbon world — from emissions measurement to market access, from science to implementation.

The heart remains the same: practical knowledge, honest conversations, and a commitment to making change real — on farm, in policy, and across the economy.

Onwards!

Louisa Kiely

Louisa Kiely, B.Ag.Ec, Director of Carbon Management Services, has been a driving force in Australian carbon farming for nearly two decades. A trained agricultural economist and former woolgrower, she co-founded the early Carbon Coalition and originated the Carbon Farming Conference in 2007, stewarding eleven editions through 2023. Louisa helped bring Australia’s first soil-carbon credits to market, contributed to the first Soil Carbon Method, led national training, advocated for major research funding, and supported projects across 200,000+ hectares.

Today she leads CMS, turning policy and science into practical, profitable pathways for producers. Louisa is director of the 2025 National Carbon Farming Conference & Expo in Albury — a farmer-first event bringing farmers, science & markets together for clear, usable on-farm solutions.
