Growing up on family farms in Yackandandah and Tallangatta, Justin is a fifth-generation beef, dairy and sheep farmer with more than 25 years of experience in the carbon sector. Completing a Master’s degree in greenhouse gas policy implementation in 1995, he has since combined deep agricultural knowledge with leadership in carbon, biodiversity, and land-restoration initiatives.

A sought-after advisor on climate and carbon strategy, Justin helps corporations translate sustainability goals into practical, on-ground outcomes. He is recognised nationally for his expertise in the Environmental Plantings Methodology and the design of integrated carbon forestry, regenerative agriculture, future-climate resilience, and biodiversity enhancement projects at scale—including contributions to the Nature Repair Market.

Justin has founded or co-founded several pioneering carbon businesses that have shaped Australia’s carbon-farming industry and mentored many of its leading professionals. He has also served on numerous boards and charitable organisations supporting Indigenous programs, homelessness initiatives, and youth education.

He was one of the initial authors of the Carbon Industry Code of Conduct and is a Fellow of the Commonwealth Study Conference. A passionate snow skier and founding patron of Protect Our Winters Australia, Justin enjoys time in the mountains—preferably after a Carlton win.
