Dr Lorraine Gordon
Principal of Natural Capital Australia, Climate Friendly
Lorraine Gordon is a renowned academic and regenerative farmer who leads Climate Friendly’s ground-breaking Natural Capital accounting services. With a swag of national awards, Lorraine has built a thriving tourism and agriculture business at her Moffat Falls property in the New England tablelands, where she manages a soil carbon project and raises grass fed beef cattle.
As director of Southern Cross University’s $15 million farming program, she established the world’s first degree in regenerative agriculture and was awarded the 2018 Australian Rural Community Leader of the Year Award for her service to farmers. She also won ABC’s 1994 NSW Rural Woman of the Year Award and has since been recognised with numerous national honours, including being named a Finalist for the 2019 Australian of the Year.
Today, Lorraine is changing the way we farm for climate mitigation, while enhancing the health and wellbeing of landscapes and rural communities across Australia.
